Now What?

Tracey Ask Tracey

Q: I just retired after 35 years as a teacher. I think I might eventually visit Italy but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. Now what?

A: Retirement is a huge transition. Why don’t you begin by taking this summer to just relax – do nothing, be lazy, enjoy yourself. When September rolls around, and all of those teachers and students are returning to school, revisit this question in earnest. I have some good books on the subject listed on my blog – check them out. Remember, adjusting to retirement takes time. Be patient, be proactive, and congratulations!
